Why choose merino wool?

Merino wool fibers are some of the finest found in nature and produce material so soft, durable, and naturally odor resistant that they surpass synthetics in nearly every way. Simple, efficient, ingenious. Nature’s solutions aren’t tested in laboratories; they face the ultimate field test. Natural fabric reduce any remaining noise. Wool absorbs UV radiation through the entire UV spectrum. Wool absorbs 30% of its weight in moisture which then passes through the material and evaporates instead of remaining on the skin.

What is the Difference Between Wool and Merino Wool?

Regular wool is a material fiber that is extracted from the hide of hairy animals such as s sheep and goats while merino wool is a material fiber acquired particularly from Merino sheep. In this way, wool can originate from various kinds of textured animals, for example, sheep, goats, and rabbits though Merino sheep originate from Merino sheep. In particular, it is gentler and better than regular wool. It is more adaptable and less elastic than regular wool. This is the main distinction between wool and Merino wool. While individuals, for the most part, use regular wool for winter garments, Merino fleece is perfect for outdoor exercises such as hiking.

Advantage of merino wool

Merino wool is easy to care for.

The fibres work this way in our garments the same as they do in the sheep that supply our merino. We strongly recommend that you only wash your garments using the specific care instructions on the garments label.

Merino wool is moisture regulating.

The merino fiber can actively manage moisture by absorbing from the skin and then desorbing to the atmosphere, leaving you dryer and more comfortable. A merino fiber will absorb up to 30% of its own weight in water before feeling wet, much greater than most synthetic fibers.

Merino wool provides UV protection.

Although Australia and Tasmania are particularly exposed to harmful UV radiation due to a hole in the ozone layer, not once has a sheep suffered from sunburn. Why is that? It’s because of their wool, of course – it simply absorbs some of the UV radiation and keeps it away from the skin. UPF 40 indicates excellent protection, blocking 97.5 to 97.6% of all UV radiation from the skin.

Merino wool is temperature regulating.

Wool fibers are true all-rounders that do exactly what you expect from them, whatever the season – they cool you down in summer, and warm you in winter. Merino is a technically active fiber, which has the ability to gain and release heat depending on the wearer's next-to-skin environment and the external conditions. As merino absorbs moisture it releases a small amount of heat, and in hot conditions the reverse effect occurs. This means you stay warmer in cold conditions and cooler in hot conditions. It's like wearing your own personal air conditioning system.
